Girls Like Em Lucky Spread the rust Glitter on the sea God, spare the sailor standing next to me Which of us will meet the metal when we spill our bodies on the shore? Girls Like Em Lucky Girls Like em lucky and alive Girls Like em lucky Girls Like em lucky and alive Look at me Look me in the eye Is it me or you who has to say goodbye and which of us will win the medals When we spin our stories on the shore? Girls Like Em Lucky Girls Like em lucky and alive Girls Like em lucky Girls Like em lucky and alive And the engines came to halt with a bang Majors calling off the war - and the bells rang And we sang to souls far away Girls Like Em Lucky Girls Like em lucky and alive Girls Like em lucky Girls Like em lucky and alive

Suddenly 04:16
“Suddenly” by Derek Nicoletto Where are all my friends? It's happening again, Suddenly. Sitting at the bar Sewing up the scars Suddenly. Suddenly, He gave her back the ring For no apparent thing Out of nowhere You know he’ll reappear Chapter Ten is not where to begin Ok, man, I’ll look again, the Cops are here again House is full of men "Poor me, "poor me." Out of nowhere Transatlantic friends Calling me. Why you calling me to Give you little stamps And hold her little hands? Somehow you’re knocked up again, so There’s no such place as suddenly There’s no such place as suddenly We’re nowhere near Nowhere near The beginning at the end. (End) of credit line Pizza tastes fine with Lorazipam And insulin. Blockage and broke But you hit the boat where th Porterhouse and eggs taste great. Excuse me officer that man over there lying to the skyand his wife propped by his breath, almost to death. Ok, man, I’ll look again, but There’s no such place as suddenly There’s no such place as suddenly We’re nowhere near Nowhere near beginning at the end. (End) of it all it bubbles black and blue And the scratch, did it surprise you too? Well, you know it probably will again…. There’s no such place as suddenly There’s no such place as suddenly We’re nowhere near Nowhere near When we begin at the end (again). At the end, again. We’re nowhere near, when we begin at The End.

Kind Ghosts 03:02
Kind Ghosts by Derek Nicoletto “What now? What now?” I cried. Cried to the summer night And the summer night replied, “Remember your name, sing it to the sky. Go out and dance for yourself tonight.” Kind ghosts will carry us Carry greater plans Care greater than we do to Remember your name, sing it to the sky Go out and dance for yourself tonight Let go, let go or be dragged behind. Kind ghosts will carry you home tonight. On that beach, my dog beside me I sang …my name. My name. Remember your name, sing it to the sky Go out and dance for yourself tonight Let go, let go, or be dragged behind Kind Ghosts will carry you home tonight Let go, let go, or be dragged behind Kind Ghosts will carry us home tonight.

Sugar 04:28
Sugar By Derek Nicoletto Sugar, sugar honey pot Sugar don’t know why she don’t want to ask me. Sugar. Sugar’s trying so hard. Trying so hard to say what’s on her mind. Licking the batter out of the bowl is everyone’s favorite part. Delicious. Lick it up. Miss honey pot. Miss Honey Pot. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Sugar, sugar honey pot. Sugar don’t know why she don’t want to ask me. Well, you’re so nasty. Trickery like that will get you everywhere. Everywhere. You’re too much woman for one man to handle and I’m too much man to take my time. Delicious, lick it up. Miss honey pot. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Well now baby, tell me, do you want me? Am I yours? Oh now baby, well, tell me do you want me? Am I yours? Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes. Old dog, new tricks. Well, you know how that goes.

Hustler with a Rescue Plan Music & lyrics by Derek Nicoletto © 2010 by 7 Trick Pony LLC Me make music on canvas clean Gonna paint a path out of beige and bleak Instead of selling rust, Start sweatin’ green. Gonna use a brush My mama made with A beggar in a high hat Hustler with a rescue plan I’m gonna make it out. Hustler (gonna make it, gonna make it out) A Hustler with a Rescue Plan. Me make music, splatter melody Up stroke down paint out of beige and bleak. Instead of pimping dust, start smelling green Gonna use the brush my mama made me with. A beggar in a high hat A Hustler with a Rescue Plan I’m gonna make it out. Hustler (gonna make it, gonna make it out) A Hustler with a Rescue Plan. A Beggar in a High Hat A Hustler with a Rescue Plan Salon de la Rue des Moulins Will make a fool out of Satan. A mountain of cash’ll Make a man out of me Brush a man out of… Hustler (gonna make it, gonna make it out) A Hustler with a Rescue Plan.

Easy Out 03:25
Easy Out Verse 1 On the mound of ice I could meet your eyes Leaned in for a kiss goodnight Touched your navel just below Bow shot an arrow Said I was in trouble Chorus 1 Easy out, easy out, then goodbye Easy out, easy out, you were so Sweet for a minute Sweet for a minute Verse 2 You like anything orange. Snagged my finger on your blood sugar monitor cord. Move the cats and the shirt and the bedspread Black keys of my synth in your back Touched your navel just below Bow shot an arrow Said I was in trouble Chorus 2 Easy out, easy out, then goodbye Easy out, easy out, you were so Sweet for a minute Sweet for a minute Bridge I’m in trouble now Outro Easy out, easy out, then goodbye Easy out, easy out, you were so Sweet for a minute Sweet for a minute Then goodbye, then goodbye.

Alabaster Sky by Derek Nicoletto VERSE ONE Tell me a story, this winter morning needs some sunlight Tell me a story one where the hero hasn’t wasted all his life. Feather pillow, comfort me. Don’t leave out Don’t leave out the part where he… (la la la la la la) VERSE TWO Tell me a story One where you never need your lifeline New England waves, Sandy granddaughters Fill your life. Your distractions crackling in the fire. Don’t leave out the part where we La la la Love. CHORUS Ready to go Ready to drive Ready to dream about Anywhere else but now Shovel the truth off to the side Clear me a path for imaginary life Through an alabaster sky Words will wing us high, Flurry and flood All of the blood into the white. VERSE THREE Tell me a story One where I never need a bloodline - Where less than a thousand milligrams could keep me me alive You’ll be there to comfort me Don’t leave now, Not before the part where we La La La La Love CHORUS TWO Ready to go Ready to drive Ready to dream about Anywhere else but now Shovel the truth off to the side Clear me a path for imaginary life Pause to magnify every snowy lie Flurry and flood all of the blood into the white.

about

With his first-ever solo album, "Kind Ghosts," (due July 26, 2011), Billboard-honored singer/songwriter Derek Nicoletto flaunts his knack for infusing unique pop hooks, vivid lyrical imagery and evocative instrumentation into what could be called full-bodied electropop collection of singles. Shaped by Platinum-selling producer Jamie Siegel (Taking Back Sunday, The Roots), Nicoletto’s new direction in “Kind Ghosts” highlights his pure vocal talent upon a backdrop of bubbly, yet sensitive electronica with a signature flair of rocky soulfulness.

Nicoletto shares, making “Kind Ghosts” meant examining and taking the best of what’s created me to this moment, all the joy, pain, beauty, humility, and then baring myself in a new sense of self. I could only trust Jamie Siegel to help me accomplish this task. We are so proud of the result. Today, I know that there are powers greater than myself looking out for me. Sometimes they are clear angels, like my grandfathers, sometimes they are visions that I can’t explain. I call these my “kind ghosts.” They are reflected through the snapshots of these songs and the people or experiences that have shaped me into the artist, father, son, friend, lover and stranger I am today,” Nicoletto explains. “Most of all, I’ve realized that the residue of my past contains a gorgeous, bright and child-like innocent love, incorporated here in the musical atmosphere of all the songs on “Kind Ghosts,” no matter the specific theme of each song. And looking at this constant in my life as I created this album, I realized I’m going to be all right, no matter what life brings my way. Thus, the theme of the album, as an entire piece, is the lyric from the title track. “Remember your name, sing it to the sky, go out and dance for yourself tonight. Let go, or be dragged behind. Kind ghosts will carry you home tonight.”

Previously, Nicoletto successfully fronted indie bands Telling on Trixie (an "indie rock powerhouse" - Skope Magazine) and 2010's Derek and the Darling, and turned to his fans to embark on his solo career, who funded the album entirely on Kickstarter. Charting on hundreds of FM and college stations or live on Sirius radio, Derek's songs have reached millions of people on the radio waves. His songs have been used in over 25 television programs, with a heavy usage from MTV reality and competition programs.

"Suddenly" from “Kind Ghosts” has been the soundtrack to KMart campaigns since last Fall 2010. Having penned scores of pop/rock songs for his own bands, other artists and commercial projects, Nicoletto has become a well-known voice in the independent music scene and a voting member of the Grammy Awards and now begins his long-awaited solo career with an electropop bang, as glowing and raw as the “Kind Ghost” album cover itself.
